  1. What is the difference between a taxi and a private hire vehicle?

   2. Are you licensed & insured?

  • Yes, Shire Travel Private Hire is licensed by Shropshire County Council. Our operators licence is PH0588. All vehicles are fully licensed by Shropshire Council and are fully insured. 

   3. What are the payment options Available?

  • We have multiple payment options, these include; Bacs Transfer, Payment link, Card payment, Cheque and Cash. Invoices and receipts are always available 

   4. Can I book a Taxi in advance?​

  • We operate private hire vehicles and so prebooking is essential. 

  • Pre bookings can be made via a telephone call or the enquiry page 

   5. Are there real time updates?

  • With pre booked work drivers can send live locations through WhatsApp. This will give you a real time display of your drivers location. Please note due to the rural nature of our area, this feature may not be available due to low 4g data.  

   6. What is the cancellation policy?

  • We do understand that plans may change and therefore you may need to cancel the booking. If you cancel the booking with 48 hours or more notice you won't be charged (if paid a refund will be made to you.) If less than 48 hours but more than 24 hours notice then a 50% charge/refund will be made. If it's less than 24 hours notice,  full charge will apply.
